MEET OUR CUSTOM CRUSH WINEMAKERS

The Sugarloaf Member Wineries Community

Sugarloaf is a place where boutique custom crush winemakers and emerging talent come together to share the top-quality winemaking tools and pursue their passions alongside peers. Each harvest, approximately 30 custom crush winemakers choose The Crush Studio at Sugarloaf Wine Co. as their cooperative winery and cellar crew support team. Many of our custom crush clients have trusted us to be their winemaking partner for multiple vintages. Winemakers in Residence are custom crush members who feature their small-lot wines at our tasting room and wine lounge, open to the public five days a week. Here, you’ll find our list of current members of the Sugarloaf crush member wineries community, as well alumni custom crush winemakers who started at Sugarloaf Wine Co. and grew successful brands.

Winemakers In Residence

Member wineries whose wines are poured by the flight, glass and bottle at our collective tasting room, The Wine Lounge at Sugarloaf Wine Co, are considered Winemakers in Residence. Visit us to taste their small-batch wines.

J. Cage Cellars

About This Winemaker

From the Beery family, who followed what they call their wine-stained dream from Texas to Sonoma County. They are two generations with one passion: crafting authentic and compelling wines. Father-son team Roger and Conch source their pinot noirs from respected growers in Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Petaluma Gap and Sonoma Mountain Mountain (as well as sauvignon blanc and rustic reds from Dry Creek Valley) to create small lots with minimal intervention winemaking. Daughter Whitney handles marketing and sustainability. Fellow Sugarloaf Crush winemaker Adam Lee serves as consulting winemaker.

Sosie Wines

About This Winemaker

Founded by a couple who fell in love with French food, wine and culture during many travels to Europe, Sosie means “look alike” in French. Owners Scott and Regina craft wines of finesse, precision and restraint. They aim to be the sosie of their French counterparts. Grapes are sourced from several organic, sustainable vineyards in Sonoma and Napa that all share a pronounced cooling influence that lend freshness to Sosie wines. Their intriguing bottles include sparkling wines made from Rhone varietals, a roussanne, a syrah rosé, a Sonoma Coast pinot noir and Bordeaux varietal wines from mountain-grown fruit.

Reynoso Family Vineyards

About This Winemaker

Made by our founder, Joe Reynoso, and his family from their estate vineyards in Alexander Valley. Three generations strong, Reynoso farms 150 acres of grapes on his 500-acre ranch in the hills above Geyserville, including 35 individual blocks of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot, syrah, petite sirah and sauvignon blanc. They produce just four fruit-driven wines–one blend and three varietal wines crafted with minimal intervention to express the essence and intensity of each varietal without sacrificing elegance and terroir. Working closely with his wife Elena and son JW, Joe continues to sell a large portion of their estate grapes to other wineries, giving Reynoso keen insight as both a farmer and a vintner.

Fogline Vineyards

About This Winemaker

Founded by two friends who fell in love with winemaking after successful careers in finance and film, Fogline focuses on crafting small lots of chardonnay, pinot noir, sauvignon blanc and syrah  from mountain fruit grown above the fog line in the Sonoma Coast’s Petaluma Gap. These coastal hills enjoy cooling winds and high-elevation sunshine–ideal conditions for balanced, focused wines. They farm grapes sustainably at their estate vineyard in the Petaluma Gap and also source cool-climate grapes from growers in the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley, as well as zinfandel and syrah from grapegrowers in the warmer Dry Creek Valley and Fountaingrove appellations.
